Tina, you told me that doula means "servant". Well, you were the perfect servant, doing what John or I requested so that I could birth in the way I needed to. And all the while, you emanated peace, composure, unwavering strength, absolute respect for the birth process, and absolute trust in me. You had the body of an angel--wings carrying you silently, gently, fluidly, from task to task--and the mind of a hawk--able to take the reins when required, making quick and rational decisions in unexpected circumstances.
